Thuan Pham joins Faire as CTO

Faire has named Thuan Pham as its new Chief Technology Officer. A prominent engineering executive known for his leadership as CTO at both Uber and Coupang, Thuan will lead the engineering, data, and IT teams, and shape the company’s technical strategy. Prior to joining Faire, he spent 30 years building and directing teams at some of the most transformational companies in tech.

Thuan’s personal and professional story is characterized by seizing opportunities and maintaining hopeful persistence in the face of adversity. As Faire CTO, he’s eager to build tools that empower business owners around the world to carve out their own paths and pursue their dreams.

Marcelo Cortes, Faire co-founder and former CTO, will move into a new role of Chief Architect. Marcelo joined Max and co-founders Jeff Kolovson and Daniele Perito to launch Faire during YCombinator’s Winter 2017 cohort. He established Faire’s Canadian headquarters in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, and expanded Faire’s technical teams to more than 300 people, across offices in Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, London, and Sao Paulo.
“It has been incredibly fulfilling to establish and lead the technical teams here at Faire,” said Marcelo Cortes, co-founder and Chief Architect at Faire. “I’m happy to be bringing on one of the tech industry’s most iconic leaders to guide our talented team to the next stage of innovation. In my new role, I’m eager to begin working directly on innovative tech to unlock new possibilities for our customers.”
Marcelo will continue to serve on Faire’s executive team and work closely with Thuan. Faire’s executive team has expanded in recent years. Neervi Patel became Chief People Officer and Ami Vora was named Chief Product Officer in 2023. Dan Hockenmaier joined the executive team as Chief Strategy Officer in 2024, and Lauren Cooks Levitan has been Chief Financial Officer since 2019. You can read more on the Leadership page.
